How far ahead you can book, what time dates open, and the rules that trip people up.
The rules
- Dates open on a rolling 11-month window, with new inventory at 8 a.m. Pacific each day, on Reserve Nevada. Source, checked November 2, 2026
- Overnight reservations close 3 days before arrival; after that, any open site is first-come, first-served. Source, checked November 2, 2026
- Day use needs a reservation only at Sand Harbor (May 15 to September 30) and Big Bend of the Colorado (May 15 to September 15). Source, checked November 2, 2026
